Kateri89
I'm just too overwhelmed and frustrated with my job situation these days and I'm off this weekend so I feel like going somewhere for the weekend that's not more than 2-3 hours away. It'll most likely just be me as all of my friends seem to be working or are out of town...any ideas? I know it's hard since I haven't disclosed where I live but just general ideas of relaxing activities that I can do alone? I'm not going to want to sit in the hotel room all day although I wouldn't mind relaxing in the hot tub for awhile :)
Basilisa Marie
Go to a lake or park and walk around, read, eat some food. :)
Nihil Obstat
Do you enjoy wine or whisky or craft beer or anything? Treat yourself to a bottle of something better than you would normally get, along with whatever comfort foods pair best with it. :| :| :| In moderation. :| :| :|

brianthephysicist
Search online for local shrines in your area. Nearby me there is http://www.ourladyoftheisland.org/ and I like to go there and spend a 1 day mini-retreat by myself. You could also probably accomplish this at a cathedral, monastery/convent, or reliquary. Coastline near you? walk the beach, go swimming, row/sailboat, jetski Go to a park and fly a kite (even if it's just a cheap $10 kite) Ride a bike through a beautiful area nearby. Camping/hiking/mountain climbing/skiing Visit the courthouse and watch people on trial Sports (tennis, golf, frolf, etc.) Fishing Appalachian Trail, or going to a nearby national park Go to a nearby city for a concert or play Art gallery, museum, science museum, touch and play museum Spelunking Wine tasting/bar hopping Go to a candy factory and take the tours and sample the candy made while you're there Amusement park (six flags, disney, dorney, hershey, etc.) or water park Zoo/aquarium Drive in movie theater (like where you watch the movie from inside your car) And...my number 1 suggestion of the evening:
Go knock on the door of the Jehovah's Witnesses' "church" and evangelize.
