HomeTeamFamily
ok so tonite a few of us were debating something related to forgiveness is forgiveness something that is freely given or does the person have to be repentant in order to give forgiveness.....let me try an example if i wrong somebody, do they wait until i come, if ever, to ask for forgiveness or is it something that i should give to them regardless? cappie
I think your example is a little confused. If someone wrongs me I am duty bound to forgive, however the forgiveness does not become actual unless the person who has wronged me seeks this forgiveness. When Jesus died he died for the forgiveness of my sins. His work of salvation and forgiveness is done, however for me to be forgiven I need to repent and seek forgiveness, to lay my sins at the foot of the cross so to speak.
