Anastasia13
Is it safe to drive a few miles to church?
OnlySunshine
I wouldn't recommend it. That's how I lost my first car -- drove while the head gasket was bad. It caused a leak so bad that it was $3,000 to repair (more than the worth of the car). I ended up selling it. Can you get a taxi or bus? Or maybe a family member or friend? Anastasia13
Mom's car has fan issues affecting her heating. It's a $1,300 repair job on a car with 117K miles on it. I already spent approximately $1,400 plus or minus $50 on the car this year, not including the accident stuff that I will be re-imbursed for. I have to drive to work all week and on until I replace it and have a doctor's appointment the other direction after work on Tuesday and another on the way to work on the 24th. I make slightly above minimum wage. Friends and people I know in my city are Protestant and already went to church or already went to church and are more of an acquaintance I barely know. Having to walking is not a good idea. I figure today is shot when it comes to getting to church, but I would like to find a car that is <$14K, and <60K miles on it. Ideally under $10K, but I know that will be near impossible to find. Edited June 16, 2013 by Light and Truth

Of course, I ended up not purchasing it since my grandfather gave me my grandmother's old car (which, coincidentally, is the SAME type of car!). I also managed to find several others but Buick is my favorite brand because they last a LONG time. My first car was a 1992 and lasted 20 years (I had it for 7). My new car is a 2000 and is running strong. I highly recommend that brand, BTW. Check AutoTrader and local listings. Be wary of Craigslist, though, because there are a LOT of scammers out there. Classifieds in the newspaper are a good way to go. I would also recommend getting a Carfax report on any car you are thinking about buying. ;) Edited June 16, 2013 by MaterMisericordiae

Is this what you mean by AutoTrader? http://www.autotrader.com/ Local listings being this, craigslist, and newpaper classifieds? How do I get a carfax? Can I get it if I buy directly through an individual? Edited June 16, 2013 by Light and Truth
