How am I supposed to get ANY reading done with all of you throwing numbers at me!!!!! :winner: Got 'em almost counted up, and then I will do the final tabulations and post 'em. Still missing a few page counts... so I can't count what you don't give me! I WILL add any that are turned in later on the next count-up. On the 'what time is it?' question -- If you go to your profile page, it will let you set it up for your time zone. I know 'Phatmass time' is one hour behind my West Coast of USA timezone... so I get used to it showing I have an extra hour to midnight when I really don't... is getting me into really bad sleep habits, too.... And it drove me crazy when I was on a trip to a different timezone!!! I still think we should go with Phatmass time, even though that may make it tough for those of you not in the USA. Byz, do we give 'em 24 hours leeway or something? Make the count on Sept 2nd or something???? At some point, Byz & I need to be able to call a poll closing time, and we will NEVER all be in the same time zone...... Anybody else want to suggest something before Byz makes a final ruling? A few comments for the bean counting service: 1) 365 books read. Excellent. I like it when numbers show up like that.... 2) I don't think you added in the page count for The Two Towers.... It was 338 pages. 3) I like how you added LOTH to my "in progress" list. If I'm not regular every day does it still count? I'm trying, but I fluctuate in regularity at times. Hopefully this solution will fix things: Follow your local time zone, and after midnight in your time zone no posting. This is not a final ruling. If it doesn't work, I'm still open to suggestions. That sounds reasonable to me. It requires the honor system, but the whole competition is on the honor system anyway and we should be able to trust each other reasonably. You have more than exhibited good faith on giving me book counts! If you can't find something, and have tried, let me know... I'm not totally unreasonable... most of the time! You don't have to count up all the pages, just give me the individual book counts - we'll let my Excel program do the heavy lifting. The Book of Revelations-? The Book of Jude-? The Book of John-? I can give you a page count from my own bible for the 1st 2 - don't worry Book of John -- is that the Gospel (John, 26 pgs) or one or more of the Epistles? 1 john 4 pgs; 2 John, 1 page; 3 John, 1 page. I'm OK with giving you 30 pages total if you read gospels and epistles-- and if you count YOUR version and get higher numbers, let me know... AND... Just so you know: Gospels and major bible books are cited this way: John 1:23 tells me that is BOOK OF JOHN (ie Gospel) chapter 1, verse 23. 1 John 1:23 tells me it is the FIRST EPISTLE OF JOHN, Chapter 1, verse 23 2 John 1:23 tells me it is the SECOND EPISTLE of John, Chapter 1, verse 23 Other books of the bible work the same way. If there is more than 1 with the same name, they put a number in front of the book: 1 Kings 2 Kings So now you learned something new!!!! If you can't find the book, give me the author name and book title and I'll look a few up for you The Third Degree-(still need to look up) Break and Enter-(still need to look up) Don't know the authors and there are several books with same titles for the last 2 so can't look those up.
