AnneLine
A few more questions/comments: You wrote down the page count for the first book as 409 when it was really 36. You added it up right, though. You didn't put down the books I currently have in progress.... Have you stopped doing that, or did you just forget? Do you think people on VS would be interested in having the prayer book (the first on the list above) scanned and provided like Emma did with some others? Emma sent it to me, and the prayers are really beautiful, which is why I'm thinking about scanning it at all. There's a whole set of prayers for each mystery of the rosary other than the luminous ones (they were written in '94...), a set for the Stations of the Cross, and some others besides. They really are from the heart of Mother Francis, and I'm finding that hers is a very beautiful heart. Thanks for doing all this, it must be a bit of a challenge to keep track of! Oops! You are right on all scores. I merely miscopied the numbers when I put it on line. Excel spreadsheet has the number counts right. I will fix my records and it will be posted correctly next repost. And yes, I just accidently didn't add your in progress books: Christina Therese: In Progress: The Two Towers The Catholic Mystique: Women Converts Tell Their Stories It's not hard to keep track of; what is a pain is that I can't just cut & paste the Excel chart... have to retype it all. So... yup, human capable of human errors. SO, EVERYONE -- please check your numbers and books!

Byz, what do you think about Readers' Digest magazines..? I am generally against eating books period (except for the scrolls required to be eaten in the Bible) and will therefore deduct 10 points from the score of anyone who does such a thing. Readers Digest... Let's say if over 100 pages it counts, if not it doesn't? Finished Render Unto Caesar by Abp. Chaput. Follow-up Query, Byz... Given your response above, does reading the Book of Revelation COMPLETE with scrolls count for an extra 10 points? Sounds like a bonus is a possibility.... ;) Byz, I think you can catch the C's if you go at it scroll and vellum.....

(sorry, Byz... I couldn't resist! :paperbag: ) I'd suggest pelting me with romance novels, but I know you don't approve of that form of asceticism.... ;) ) As far as the "C's" at 20 you aren't far behind them.... until they check back in.... Catholicterp, 39 Chrysophylax, 34 Cartermia, 25 Gotcha! I shall try! But wait... It's been a while since Cartermia's last checkin if I remember correctly... She could have read a lot of books by now... Edited July 19, 2013 by Byzantine
AnneLine
I know! That is what makes this so interesting and fun! We have no idea how many books or pages she and other could be accumulating. There could be a strategy. People could be slamming thorough War & Peace and pretending they are just reading a few pages here and there.... But you would still have the fun of being in the lead for a little while, Byz!!!! And.... I seem to recall from a sewing thread that Cartermia was looking at going to a sewing camp. Hopefully they will keep her too busy to read....The other two are just scary. I think we should get ARFink to 'lose' Chrysophlax' library card... (not steal it, just... misplace it for a few weeks... until after September 21st (or whenever we are ending this....) Did you ever decide on a LAST DAY? We ought to give people fair warning... they might want to invest in some midnight oil....

Byzantine
Did you ever decide on a LAST DAY? We ought to give people fair warning... they might want to invest in some midnight oil.... OP says "end of August," so I guess it'll continue until the 31st. I could, of course, end it on the 24th (the Saturday before I go back to school), but that doesn't seem fair... AnneLine
Is it fair to say people need to get books and pages in by midnight Aug 31st Phamass time? So... I'll tally up final pages count at some point on Sept 1st!!! (and of course post updates a few times between now and then.... Sound good to all those who may be plotting a last minute slide into home? Edited July 19, 2013 by AnneLine
