Spem in alium
My cousin (11YO) is making his Confirmation next week and we're stuck for gift ideas. We may end up going with another kind of gift (like a model car or something, as he's fairly into that kind of thing). Personally I think a religious gift would be more fitting, but am not entirely sure what he would use or appreciate. Any suggestions would be welcome! Nihil Obstat
:o ONE OF ARFY'S LASER ICONS! Do this. Edit: He beat me to the punch. Smart man. Edited June 5, 2013 by Nihil Obstat
Anastasia13
I got a book on spiritual warfare and a book of saints. Of course I was not an eleven year old boy but an adult woman. In light of this, the cross bracelet woult be particularly unfitting for him. Does he have a nice rosary? Icons are always nice. :) At my Lutheran (jr. high) confirmation, all newly confirmed got a silver cross on a wood plaque that day. Too bad you can't get him supplies to create a battle scene in which saints fought for God and His truth. That would be da bomb, imo.

Nihil Obstat
Wait, I'm Muslim now. Get him a copy fo the Quran. He will thank Allah for you one day! That would be so wildly inappropriate for a confirmation gift. :hehe:

But it's an idea. Oh wow. I actually love this a lot. How much would you charge for it and how long would it take to make? I'll talk to my parents and see what they reckon. We won't actually be at the Confirmation so getting a gift before next week isn't crucial. A live grizzly bear. Perfect! ;) maybe a statue or picture of the patron saint they picked out for confirmation? That would be an ideal, but I'm not sure of his patron. I'm not too sure about whether he has a Rosary. I think your last idea's just excellent. Unfortunately, that would be a bit hard to organise. But so totally amesome. Wait, I'm Muslim now. You forgot? rotfl I'll keep that idea in mind :) Edited June 5, 2013 by Spem in alium

Spem in alium
Thanks. Maybe a prayer book? Now that's an idea :) I think that kind of thing could be good in that he could pick out what prayers he likes.
arfink
I could have your pieces made tonight maybe or tomorrow for sure. I am unsure how long/how expensive USPS shipping to Australia is. If you could PM me an address I could make a calculation pretty easily though. I know Canada took roughly 6-8 days, and cost $20  but that was Priority shipping. I imagine Australia would be similar, but I'd have to look it up. EDIT: Oh, and pricing. The Holy Spirit engraving is approx 7.7 inches round, and costs $60.
