Madre Lucía del Niño Jesús y de la Santa Faz

noviciado.jpg

she entered in Chile, and this was the first picture that made me realize that actually the way they had the Habits with the super big toques in the Teresa de Los Andes movie was actually 100% accurate to how they used to be in Chile at that time.

I always thought the movie had that wrong. it reminded me also of this picture of St. Teresa of Los Andes with a big toque like that as well, and I have seen a picture of another Novice in the Los Andes Carmel in a picture book I have from her life with a huge toque like that too

also the scapulars don't have much horizontal space between the two parts in the movie, and that is how her Habit is as well. I cannot find a close up picture of her Habit online, but I have it in that book.

just thought I'd post this :like: a picture from her shrine in Los Andes, not of her, but another nun in the Los Andes monastery, with the habit and toque exactly like this

Thanks Chiqui!

The Nuns in Los Andes no longer wears the very long, large toque.  They still wear the Spanish toque - longer but not as long or as the ones on the photo above.

I really wish they didnt have just the trailers but that the whole episode would be available somewhere online.

me too! although they are all available here for $10 (not bad & it would be supporting a charity) https://secure3.convio.net/acn/site/Ecommerce;jsessionid=BAA21F69C500D041218D09F13FF82EA6.app338b?VIEW_CATALOG=true&store_id=3041&NAME=&FOLDER=1110&TYPE=Documentaries I still need to get one or some sometime. 5 of these feature Carmelites.

the only one I see missing is Lebanon: A Spring in the Desert with the Harissa Carmel, http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/topic/124221-pope-benedict-xvi-visits-harissa-carmel/

Chiquitunga: I am sorry to post this request in this thread, but I do not seem to have PM privileges, being a new member. Could you PM or somehow contact me? I am currently very interested in discerning with the Dallas Carmelites, and saw that you have a friend there and much information about the community. Thank you! :)

Hi Chiqui,

Thanks for the link.

Mother Therese of Harissa Carmel was one of the prominent figures in the development of the 1990 text.

They were founded from a Spanish Carmel, right?

Praised be Jesus Christ! Hi! I just tried sending a PM but it says I can't. I believe you have to post 10 times before it's possible. That's wonderful you're thinking of them and discerning Carmel. I will keep you in prayer for now. God bless!

Hi Chiqui,

Yes :like: For a while I thought it was one of the Barcelona ones, but I was wrong. It was Calatayud, which I have seen from a few sources like here, http://www.chretiensdorient.com/article-liban-le-carmel-melkite-de-la-theotokos-marie-mere-de-dieu-a-harissa-113263699.html

I'm not sure what became of the Calatayud Carmel though, as I don't see their address listed anywhere anymore. But as for Harissa, they received a lot of vocations, as I'm sure you saw in my old thread there, http://www.phatmass....harissa-carmel/

It was really great to be able to see Mother Therese in that video! I also loved what the Orthodox monk said at the end :saint:
