Any Londoners On The Phorum

Hi everyone:

 

I'm trying to plan a trip to London.  Any good suggestions re: cheap places to stay?  It needs to sleep 3 people (two on week one, three on week two).

 

The trip is around the Christmas season.

Not a Londoner, but we usually stay at St Athan's when we go. It's not cheapest of the cheap, but not too dear, either. Good breakfast, nice staff, close to the British Museum, and Euston Station. http://www.stathanshotel.com/

I live just outside London to the north-west, so while I've never had to stay there I know it well.

 

Some people I've known have found it cheaper to stay outside of central London but near an underground station since travel is fairly inexpensive if you use public transport (and doesn't take long to get into the centre at all). Hotels can be half the price just by leaving the city centre.

When I went to London, I stayed at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel. It's right on the River Thames across the water from Parliament, so it might be a little bit pricey, but not sure. It was a very nice hotel though, with great staff and amenities. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
