Apotheoun
If the Catholic Church is made manifest in the Orthodox Churches it follows that the one Church subsists in them.

Byzantine
:hijack: stop arguing about something stupid, you'll never be the pope and have to actually deal with any of this I object to this. I am an unmarried male Catholic and thus a candidate for the papacy. I think I will stick with Dominus Iesus too, while rejecting your faulty interpretation of it. the Church of Christ, despite the divisions which exist among Christians, continues to exist fully only in the Catholic Church How is that "my interpretation" of it? Apotheoun
How is that "my interpretation" of it? Because you are failing to take into account the fact that the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church is made manifest in the Orthodox Churches, and when that is taken into account it becomes clear that no. 16 of Dominus Iesus applies to the Orthodox Churches as much as it does to the Roman Church. It is not my fault that the CDF admitted that the one Church is made manifest in the Orthodox Churches. I suppose you can blame much of this confusion on the Church Fathers, who insisted that the Catholic Church exists only in and through local Churches by the celebration of the liturgy and the profession of the faith under the guidance of a bishop. Anastasia13
:hijack: stop arguing about something stupid, you'll never be the pope and have to actually deal with any of this It's only stupid if you look at as limited to my title. On a greater level, it is about the relationship between fellow Christians and exhorted by Rome. There are many examples of how the faithful are encouraged to understand each other in the hopes of eventual union between us.
