AnneLine
Can any of you located in the Dallas area answer a question regarding what might be available for Sunday Mass today/tomorrow? Someone is staying at the Dallas Holiday Inn Express at 4321 Communications Way in Dallas. It's near Cockrell Hill I believe. The hotel is telling her that it is unsafe to travel to the nearby parishes and she does NOT have access to a car. Cab is an option.... but needs to be a safe one both ways for obvious reasons. The hotel is saying to take a cab to North Arlington to be safe for Sunday Mass and NOT to go to the geographically closer parish (Santa Clara).... but still a cab ride away. Hotel is saying to NOT use the DART. She doesn't know if the info is accdurate, and hopes someone on Phatmass might know what the real info is! Thanks for any help you can provide! She just wants to get to Sunday Mass... Thank you! Edited May 26, 2013 by AnneLine

franciscanheart
Sorry just now seeing this. Let me check the location and I'll let you know!
franciscanheart
If I'd seen this sooner, I would have recommended Cistercian or UD. Looks like St Luke's has three more Masses today but in languages other than English. Holy Family of Nazareth (Irving) has a Mass today at 5pm. Saint Thomas Aquinas has a 5pm and 7:30pm remaining. (The 7:30pm is the latest in the diocese.) Holy Trinity (Dallas) has a 5pm. Saint Monica (Dallas) has a 5pm, too.
LinaSt.Cecilia2772
Holy Family of Nazareth (Irving) has a Mass today at 5pm. I know the youth minister at this parish, and he loves it there. I would second this AnneLine.
AnneLine
Well.... Visitor was able to get to Mass at the Cathedral. Arlington Churches looked lovely... as did Irvine... but would have been an additional $50 by cab. So... I bounced off FranciscanHeart's recommendations of Dallas Arts District....and suggested going to the Cathedral near the Arts District. I knew it was unlikely anyone would see my flag so early on a Sunday morning, but you never know!!! Problem was lack of transport rather than lack of Masses. BUT visitor was able to get to Mass and get in some adoration time.... and prayed for all of you!!!! So thanks for retroactive offers of help! AnneLine
Oh Catholics are Kewl, thanks for the suggestion of MassTimes. We'd already checked that. They could give us the local parishes, but hotel kept saying not safe locations. That's why I needed someone who knew the area. FYI for anyone using Masstimes... from lots of previous experience even in my own city, ALWAYS check the parish website, and ideally, last week's bulletins. Those mass times are a good starter, but about 25% of the time they are REALLY out of whack...masses deleted, mass times changed. Sometimes they are years out of date. But I agree... that and the diocese 'parish locators' are ideal spots to start! Thanks again to everyone for your help! (edited for silly typos!) franciscanheart
 I have no idea why I didn't think of the Cathedral. I mean: OBVIOUSLY.Glad your friend made it. :like: (Too bad she had to see the "remodeled" Cathedral instead of the original, though!)
