PhuturePriest
So, my black belt test was this morning, and as promised, I have photos. I must say, this first one was my favorite. My hair totally makes me look like I'm from an anime! :smile3: My thoughts at this particular moment were just like the rest of them when I was kneeling down: "PLEASE GOD MAKE HIM TELL ME TO STAND!!!!!!!" This is the most painful position on the planet. Presentation of the black belt: Presentation of the black belt at the end of the test:

PhuturePriest
Congratulations great pics as you know patience is not passive waiting. Patience is active acceptance of the process required to attain your goals and dreams. Thanks! I've been doing karate for twelve years, and I was a purple belt for seven of them. I didn't think I would ever advance until last year I was suddenly given my brown belt, and then ten months later I'm a black belt already. TheLordsSouljah
Excuse my ignorance, but why are you wearing black? and short sleeves? I've seen a fair bit of karate and they almost always wear long sleeved white..... how does this work??
Nihil Obstat
Excuse my ignorance, but why are you wearing black? and short sleeves? I've seen a fair bit of karate and they almost always wear long sleeved white..... how does this work?? Long sleeved and white is more 'traditional', but tradition is essentially meaningless (or at the very least highly overstated) in karate, and it really just comes down to a matter of aesthetic preferences and taste, as well as the individual club's custom. I thought there was more a solid tradition like with the belt colours. Hehe, but even they differ...
