Tufsoles
Every so often I end up buying something that I know that I will have for a great while. I really got tired of buying the 5 dollar sunglasses that would break 2 weeks later. I know a couple of people that have bought Ray ban's and they have had them for 20 to 30 years. I started to put my dinero away bit by bit in order to buy the expensive one. Finally, I had enough to buy them after several months of saving up. Here they are: http://www.sunglasshut.com/us/805289669357 Oh BTW, Sunglass hut has really great service. Edited May 24, 2013 by Tufsoles
Nihil Obstat
I did exactly the same thing, four or five years ago now. Never once regretted it. Not only do they actually last longer than a couple months, they are way more comfortable and the lenses do not distort at all, either in colour or distance. morostheos
I did the same thing 5 years ago - still have my nice sunglasses, and they are great! :)
Era Might
I don't wear sunglasses but I have had the same Timberland bookbag for like 10+ years. It's sturdy, I wear it with pride.
GeorgiiMichael
A wise old tobacco dealer once told me, "You can't afford to buy cheap $#!+." The cheap stuff breaks so often, you end up spending more money in total than you would if you just saved up and bought the nice piece. I hope to get some nice sunglasses at somepoint, but I don't wear them enough right now to worry about it.
arfink
While I tend to agree with the sentiment, there are something you'd be better off buying at middle of the road prices. For example, laser cutters. It's not worth it to buy the cheapest one, but it's also not even remotely worth it to buy something spendy like an Epilog.
Tufsoles
Yeah, I agree on sometimes buying the cheapies isn't all that great. Sometimes it is good but not very often.
morostheos
Cheap sunglasses are great as fashion accessories, b/c they break or you lose them before you get tired of them, and you can have lots of different ones to match your snazzy outfits. But if you want sunglasses to keep the sun out of your eyes one good pair can go a long way.
Tufsoles
That is why I bought the expensive ones. I wanted the sun out of my eyes. They are a good pair and I know that I am getting quality.
