Nihil Obstat

An organization that is partially funded by taxpayers' money has no right to tell some of those taxpayers (gays and atheists) that they can't join that organization. Boy scouts + gov support of them = immoral.

Excellent. Now I just need to find some kind of tax-funded organization that exclusively organizes and hosts pajama parties for young ladies. For science.

The thing I have always found interesting with the Scouts is that they are dedicated to making morally sound individuals and generally have no qualms saying so. In this decision, as Brother Adam mentioned, there does not seem to be a distinction between orientation and behavior. At the same time, it makes one wonder how such a topic would come up concerning a Scout.

The point of scouting is to form individuals. In this regard, all individuals should be welcomed as members so that they might be formed. But, this also means that they must be accepting of that formation. If they are not open to that formation, I am not sure why they would want to be a scout in the first place.

I dont see how gay scouts would frown on the formation of character, self-reliance, and citizenship, which is the stated goal of the Boy Scouts of America.

You make it sound as though gay scouts would not have any desire for such a pursuit, or is it just that they are incapable of being morally sound individuals by any means?

There must also be pillows-a-plenty.

Say what you will about him, but there's no denying that he had an amazing beard.

This much is true.
Then again, the same can be said about Dosteovsky.

Or Leo Tolstoy for that matter. Dostoyevsky's beard was better, though.

Sorry, I to forgot to make the orientation vs. behavior distinction. In your reference to "gay scouts", I would view that as an active behavior or lifestyle, not simply an orientation. Those suffering from such an orientation (Scouts with Same-Sex Attraction) should, and God willing, do desire such a pursuit and will seek it out. Those who actively engage in and pursue any intrinsically disordered behavior, however, need to turn from that lifestyle to truly and fully seek out a pursuit of virtue (or to be able to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime).

Your statement that individuals with same-sex attraction are not able to make ethical and moral choices is what I take offense to.
