Donna
A thought (if more needs to be done): If vocal lessons are weekly, they could be done bi-weekly... just for the summer; or even for 1/2 the summer. Use the savings for____? This could work well if you are motivated to consistently practice; and if your instructor geared your assignments accordingly. It's possible that bi-weekly might even be better in that you'd have more time to learn more fully each lesson given. Your mom is cool!

I actually haven't started the lessons yet. It's something I've always wanted to do, but my parents could never afford. It's $17.50 for a half hour lesson! That comes to about $70 a month.. which I hope would be worth it! I don't know what my teacher would think about bi-weekly lessons, especially since I'm just starting. Ugh.. I also need to set aside a budget for clothing.. I'm starting an internship as an 'Administrative Assistant' at Caterpillar (the tractor company) and I need to build up a 'business casual' wardrobe. Pretty tough for a teenager who lives in blue jeans and t-shirts!! Bah... corporate America smells of elderberries. Let's go back to the barter system!! CatholicAndFanatical
hey my prayers are with you immaculata. Personally i would keep the voice and put the money on tuition, especially if you go to Notre Dame, when you graduate you will be able to afford 10 cellphones and anything else you want. A good education goes a long way these days and is far more important..did i just ruin the fun? leave it to me. hey im a dad, what can I say. Luthien
Notre Dame??? Wow you go young lady! The pacedyrm theory is in my motto: one bite of the elephant at a time. Try not to look too much at the big picture. Putting aside a few bucks(or most of 'em) for tutition and whatnot(voice lessons) will really add up. Its gonna take discipline and motivation, but I believe in you.
