immaculata
I'm so bummed right now... I just got a great new job this summer, and I was soooo excited about finally having my own money to spend. I had all these plans to finally be able to afford voice lessons and buy a cell phone and get contacts. But then today my parents just got the bill for tuition next year. My sister and I will both be going to a private high school, and the tuition is going up $150 a month from what we were paying. Now I feel really torn. My family is going to have a SUPER hard time affording tuition next year. My mom's even talking about going to get a second job. I feel like I should pay for some of the extra tuition, but that means that I wouldn't have money to spend on voice lessons or anything, and I wouldn't have much left to save towards college. I really want to go to the Univ. of Notre Dame, and I know that's going to be super expensive. So, I just don't know what we're gonna do.... prayers for my family, please. BeenaBobba
I will say a prayer for your family. I don't know how much you'll be making at your job, but you could put aside a bit of money each month for your tuition. It doesn't have to be a lot, but I'm sure your parents will appreciate your effort. Perhaps you could put $20 a month or so towards your tuition. You could also put some money aside for voice lessons and for college. Don't worry, though, 'cause God's got your back. God bless, Jennifer
geetarplayer
BeenaBobba had a really good idea there with putting aside some money every month. But hey, maybe now is the time for you to sacrifice and put some of those luxuries on hold. I'm sure your parents have had to do that more than a few times, you know? -Mark
foundsheep
I wish i had that decision when I was a teenager. In my family when you where old enough to get a job you helped out.

CreepyCrawler
I kind of feel the same way you do, I have all these things I SHOULD pay for but that would get in the way of paying for the things I WANT. Maybe it's God's way of making us responsible?... Anyway, if you want to go to Notre Dame and you don't happen to be rich, you'll probably have to work your way through and scrape together the money somehow so this will be good practice. Good luck figuring everything out. Don't forget prayers, too, cuz God does provide. (Are you old enough to play the lottery?...haha just kidding). A lot of things can wait till later (cell phone, whatever..) my mom wants me to keep the voice lessons, since I'll have a pretty good shot at getting music scholarships for college. Hopefully this will all work out eventually!
daugher-of-Mary
I know how you feel. I'm filling out a job application right now to help with tuition...it's going up from 4,000 to 5,000 dollars a year. I don't mind working, but the tuition rates are crazy.

cmotherofpirl
If you have a good singing voice, consider the money for voice lessons an investment in your future, and not a waste of money.
musturde
Keep at it with voice lessons. It's good that ur considering putting ur worktime into it. spend money on the voice thing and the rest on tuition. (I always seem to give the most obvious advice) I'll keep u in my prayers.
