franciscanheart
I'm so tired of typing, "My heart goes out to [insert geographic location] after [insert tragic event]."This attack in London took me to a nearby toilet to upchuck my non-existent breakfast. My spirit is so tired.

Ice_nine
I think it's almost too overwhelming with the technology we have today we can hear about any tragedy that happens anywhere, but I wouldn't know if someone at the end of my street is dying. I'm sort of numb and not really emotionally affected by the news atm.

homeschoolmom
There was a rockslide at a fossil-hunting location in St. Paul today. Two fourth grade classes were there on a fieldtrip. One child is dead, one is still missing. I'm so tired of bad news. :(
LittleWaySoul
I second ice_nine's sentiment about being numb to it all. So many tragedies... and I just feel numb.
Anastasia13
Say a prayer. If you are in a position to do something else do it, if not don't, and move on. Never feel like you are responsible for healing everything in the world. God puts before us things we are called to do and things we need to know about and understand, but we need to be careful what we take in and how much or it will hinder our ability to affect change in the face of what is wrong. Feeling something when tragedy happens makes us human, but feeling everything is not our role. We are not God. We are only human and not always as strong as we want to be, and that is ok. A neuroscientist on public radio today was talking about how we are programmed to focus more on the negative things in life. When overly tired of this stuff, take a step back, take time to be restored, find the good (and the God) in the world. We live for the opportunity, not the tragedy. Somewhere a child was born today and a new life came into the world. Somewhere a mother holds her child, a father teaches his son how to play a sport, friends shared a moment, lovers shared love, someone discovered some new fact, and someone laughed. There is enough good in the world to know that the goodness that God has created will not be overwhelmed by darkness for a moment. What was meant for evil, God can use for good. He is bigger than anything tragic that happens. I'd say share what is going in inside with others, but I really smell of elderberries at that, sharing and answering, and that is probably what you are doing already. All I can say to that is *hug* and I am sorry you are dealing with that and I am sorry that that happened in London. Source: Life and the occasional conviction that sometimes a little cynicism is just good common sense. P.S. I really like your avatar!
