jazzytakara
I came across this chart, not sure of the credibility, but interesting none the less. What's sad is that the apparent State with the least abortion laws is being championed..This makes me so sad. Also the fact that the website is encouraging abortion with the way this chart is being advertised...so frustrating... As an aside: I'm from Canada, my taxes fund abortion, and there are no restrictions on it aside from what any given doctor is willing to do. I only learnt how bad it is here a few months ago, the fact that someone can get an abortion up until the moment the child leaves the womb (if a doctor is willing to do it) depresses me so much. I hope the rest of the world doesn't go this far, but sadly it seems to be spreading: http://www.upworthy.com/why-oregon-just-became-the-best-state-to-have-sex-in
BG45
You weren't underplaying it by saying they champion the state with the least restrictive laws. I wanted to vomit at "Oregon just became the best state to have sex in".
Chestertonian
I hope the rest of the world doesn't go this far, but sadly it seems to be spreading: "Two physicians practicing in the Netherlands, the very heart of civilized Europe, this spring published in The New England Journal of Medicine a set of guidelines for what they called infant ''euthanasia.'' The authors named their guidelines the Groningen protocol, after the city where they work. One of the physicians, Dr. Eduard Verhagen, has admitted to presiding over the killing of four babies in the last three years, by means of a lethal intravenous drip of morphine and midazolam (a sleeping agent). While Verhagen's actions were illegal under Dutch law, he hasn't been prosecuted for them" http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/10/magazine/10WWLN.html?pagewanted=all&_r=
Chestertonian
Oregon is also the state with the highest percentage of non-religious people. Go figure.

Kateri89
Apparently Oklahoma has two very unreasonable abortion restrictions: 1. Description of fetal development (verbal or written) 2. Description of procedure (verbal or written) Heaven forbid the "physician" should explain to a patient what he is "removing" and how he is "removing it". This truly baffles me from a nursing point of view. Any nurse knows that it is drilled into our minds to "educate, educate, educate" patients so that they are fully involved in their treatment. We need consents for much more minor procedures, let alone homicide. May Jesus have mercy on our souls. :beg:

Its so sad how this is becoming socially acceptable and even encouraged. There isn't a lot of knowledge about it either, in Canada for instance when you tell others about how there is no protection for the unborn up until the moment of birth, they are often shocked. However, I have also witnessed these same people easily swayed to start making exceptions for abortion, not even the typical ones that come up, some pretty outlandish ones have been heard. I've even heard reasons why I shouldn't be pro-life. I don't know why its so hard to accept that unborn children are humans too and as humans deserve to live.
