haha this has nothing to do with anything... :P but the topic of hats came up in another thread.

Here's just something I noticed about berets.

I've found that most people my age (20s) tend to wear them like this: http://tinyurl.com/lyu26gk

But I wear them in the traditional way like this: http://tinyurl.com/pgna3mt

I actually have this exact beret but it's navy.

I just noticed that a while ago but I'm not sure why people wear them in this other way now! Anyone know? why is this new way so popular? ;) how do you wear them, if you do?

I don't see the difference. In fact, I'm pretty sure some of the pictures on the first page are the same as the pictures on the second page.

I thought the same when looking on my phone; however, when taking another look on my laptop I realized that there was a specific image selected.  One image was the newer style, where the beret is being worn similar to a typical hat, with the women's hair and bangs exposed, the beret is resting on the top/crown of the head. Here is the link to the source page: http://www.allfreeknitting.com/Knit-Berets/All-Day-Beret

The second image was the more traditional style, where the bangs are often covered or parted with the beret resting on the forehead and slightly tilted. Here is the link to the source page (the image is the sixth image shown on the page: http://www.small4style.com/2012/01/monday-french-sailors.html

In regards to the original question, I have worn both styles in the past. Its often based on how my hair is styled (or more commonly whether or not I am having a good hair day/need my bangs cut/the beret in question). I am also more likely to wear one style over the other in terms of weather conditions, colder weather I'm going to want my ears covered =p

Thank you for explaining! :like2:  I definitely didn't notice the images selected, it all makes much more sense now!
