Ice_nine
by complete accident. When I got there I was confused but vaguely remembered last week they said the next 11:30 mass would be the extraordinary form. I remained fairly confused the entire time, but other than not knowing what was being said, and what I was supposed to do or say, it was pretty beautiful. They brought out kneelers and the priest announced that communion in the hand was not allowed for this rite (I think he said it was the John 23rd rite from the 1962 missal or some such thing I don't remember). Anyhow I thought to myself, "some folks at phatmass might appreciate this," so . . . here ya go! Happy pentacost

Basilisa Marie
Seems fitting for Pentecost to explore a different rite. :)
elizabeth09
Happy Pentecost. How was the Latin Mass?
MarysLittleFlower
Cool :) I went to the Latin Mass too! (it is confusing at first until you figure out the missal and get a little used to it ;))
Ice_nine
it was kinda funny because pretty much no one knew what to do since it was at a "normal" Mass time. There was a priest (I think) signaling us when to sit, stand, kneel etc. The service was almost a full two hours, which I didn't really mind except for the fact that I wish I knew more of what was going on. I was familiar with some things (ad orientum, the Eucharistic prayers being whispered), but the music was righteous so it was all good. It forced me to be less cerebral about it, which was nice for a change.
BG45
Went to the Solemnity of Christ the King in the EF, so I can totally empathize with the "what in the world is going on?" and "This is lasting longer than usual". Glad it went so well for you!

Most people were surprise when they got to mass. It was not the English mass.
