PhuturePriest
I have never had the determination or stamina to write a full novel. Short-stories are more of my thing. A burst of inspiration comes and then like four or five hours of me spewing my mind into my word processor, is usually what happens. Unfortunately, this is not an at-will power.. Best of luck to ya! I've tried to write short stories, but what happens is every time I do, I get inspired and get writing to where it can no longer be a short story. :P
Maggyie
Evelyn Waugh wrote 'romance'. Sort of. Sometimes. He was manly as floop. actually, Evelyn Waugh dealt with same sex attraction (brideshead revisited was semi-autobiographical in that respect). so, for your purposes he is the worst example ever. Semper Catholic
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." --Dr. Seuss Many arguments have been made that the Catholic Church as an entity exists solely to prevent people from being who they are. I also find it interesting that that quote is one of the many from Seuss used by Gay Rights advocates. The more you know. , P.S. There are plenty of Gay manly men, Freddie Mercury, Rob Halford and many more. Nothing wrong with it.Just saying FP could spend more time in the backyard throwing around a football. Maggyie
Since when does struggling with same-sex attraction make you a terrible example of masculinity? Um.... 'He had what he called an "acute homosexual phase" when he was at Oxford, like most Oxford men in the Twenties,' said Miss Byrne. 'It was not particularly unusual, particularly because women were not permitted to go to Oxford. 'It was very much perceived as acceptable as long as it was a phase you grew out of when you left Oxford. 'He used to joke to friends who hadn't had a gay phase that they had missed out on something. 'He said it was like fermenting wine, in order to prepare you for later on - for being married.' Linky linky. Poor example of authentic masculinity. Interesting. That reminds me that I keep meaning to get to the book of his letters that I have.
Nihil Obstat
It bears mentioning that he himself experienced a conversion of sorts later in life, and embraced authentic Catholicism at that point.

Just tired of the sexual-orientation witch-hunt that ultimately ensues every time FP posts something. Besides, he's not the one with the avatar of shirtless dudes lifting weights, Just sayin. PhuturePriest
You write, too? Jack of all trades! My dad is a jack of all trades: electrician, auctioneer, cook, truck driver, plumber, etc. I'm a jack of all trades, just for things that are way less useful around the house. :P I hate to say it, but singing, dancing and writing don't particularly help the house not fall apart. :P

PhuturePriest
Miles. Check this out:http://figment.com/ That's awesome! I got started writing by going on Fanfiction.Net, but I barely go on there anymore, and I never write or read stories on there. There are some good authors to be found on there, but a lot of them are just fan girls writing about their favorite characters getting married. I read those quite extensively when I went on there. :P
