kujo
From what I've seen, he has become more caring for other people and their welfare than before. He also seems to be less of a narcissistic sociopath. Justify that. Examples please.
PhuturePriest
Justify that. Examples please. I'm not really going to debate this, because I'm not a superhero nerd and you can run circles around me in this area. But from having watched (Somewhat forcibly by Michael) Iron Man one and two, as well as The Avengers, it seems his character has grown and that he isn't as self-involved. GeorgiiMichael
Calm down Kujo. You clearly have strong opinions, but you're getting argumentative and that's not cool. You're not going to convince people who liked the movie that it was bad, and we're not going to convince you that it was good, so cut it out and move on. GeorgiiMichael
It's almost as if it's just a stupid movie. It's certainly just a movie. Making judgment calls about what is and is not stupid is not the place of someone who hasn't seen it and has admitted to not liking the genre. If this were a debate about The Lord of the Rings, I would have said "It's just a stupid movie/book", despite the fact that I'm a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings. BG45
On your second "didn't like" point, I get where you're coming from, but all of those suits represent a time in Tony's life that he's trying to move beyond. Like he said at the end, he's still Iron Man, and so he'll still suit up. But those particular suits represent the dark places he was during his PTSD, and like the name of the protocol indicates, he needed a clean slate. Ah okay, I missed where he'll still suit up. The way you explain it makes it way better, thanks!

Here I was thinking that this was an exchange of opinions between people that could handle a difference of them, when in fact I was dealing with delicate ears who weren't capable (or willing) to dialogue. Duly noted. Thanks for giving me permission to "move on."

kujo
I'm sorry. Did the person who just whined about "argumentative" answers to his statements on a thread pertaining to the difference of opinion a film just call me an asshat? That's funny, because of kettle and pot. Peace out Princess.

Seven77
Also, bullocks to people talking about character development. What about Tony has changed from the end of the 1st movie? He's still wildly arrogant, incredibly childish, and totally self involved. Except for his love for Pepper, which hasn't changed or "evolved" in any way. He didn't develop, grow up or improve as a person. He's just got more suits, and developed technology that makes it possible for him not to have the arc reactor in his chest to power the suits. You, sir, are da man. Mad props to you.You totally get what I'm saying.
Seven77
Spoilers: Can we talk about the Mandarin orange… what a fruity guy. How can anyone take the movie seriously?
kujo
Spoilers: Can we talk about the Mandarin orange… what a fruity guy. How can anyone take the movie seriously? The owner of my local comic shop pointed something out to me last week: there's no definitive Mandarin story. Not just that there's no single unified backstory, but not a singular story that everyone can point to and say "THIS is the classic Mandarin story." I think that's the problem with the movie's portrayal-- they decided to use the longest tenured Iron Man rogue as a punch line. It's not that they made him a pawn in Aldrich's scheme--that could have been cool. It's that they did it for LAUGHS, as though it was a joke and something to giggle at. Just like everything else in the movie, it was winky and schlocky.
