PhuturePriest
Am I the only one who can say they really haven't had a crush except for Jesus... Well, remember that you are thirteen. Wait for high school. Whether you want it to happen or not, there is a 99% chance you'll meet at least one guy that you'll make excuses to hang out with and talk on the phone to all the time. ;)
Nihil Obstat
Even religious and other consecrated singles are susceptible to the odd crush here and there. :hehe: I have it on good authority that not even married people are immune. Which simply stands to reason. Edited May 12, 2013 by Nihil Obstat

I just won't be allowed to be vocal about it like I am now, though. :P

But you have to deal with them in a much different manner. Edited May 13, 2013 by Nihil Obstat
PhuturePriest
Yeah, that's the difference. You still get them; nothing magically changes when you make vows. But you have to deal with them in a much different manner. Crushes really only develop into something if you let them. Plenty of faithful married guys find the accountant at their office to be fun and enjoyable to be around, and that's normal. It would be weird to not be attracted to a young good looking girl with a great personality. You just have to be smart with those emotions. Religious have told me about how they still get crushes, but they just don't think anything of it or let it escalate. I would be willing to bet priests have had crushes on nuns/sisters, and vice-versa.
Nihil Obstat
Basically, it becomes a fairly serious obligation to not entertain those weird transient crushes, and if necessary to use all the little tricks and strategies to make them go away. (And there are several very effective strategies for doing so. :)) Those people whom we might call chronic adulterers (or for unmarried people, serial monogamists), one of their biggest problems is that they do not exercise the necessary self-control to put a transient crush in its place. Instead they entertain it and do not stop themselves from eventually acting on it. It is really not that mysterious a thing, at the end of the day. It attracts more attention than it perhaps inherently deserves.
Lil'Monster
I have a lot of crush stories but I don't feel like telling them. I had crushes on a lot of guys and I always get heartbroken.....the end! Being crushed is always the theme for me.. :sad2:

Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
I have had plenty of embarrassing crushes, i'm a major crusher, to the point i have those momments where some chick (that i don't know from a bar of soap) at the interchange is waving to someone behind me and smiling, i get a sudden crush and wave back and think 'oops' when the person whom the wave and smile was aimed for walks past..lol I should be locked up in a basement with no chance of escape so that i can't get mad crushes over women. :(

I'm always able to differentiate between a crush and something built upon real feelings and emotions, though. And this is off-topic, but I've noticed recently that your writing has become so much clearer and easier to understand. I'm so glad that you are doing better.
