I think that sarcasm and mockery are immodest and contrary to the virtue of humility. It is more than what we wear although what we were helps with the whole lust thing. Jesus tells us that it is not what goes into the mouth that makes us unclean but the which comes out of it.

I agree that true modesty needs humility, and is interior not just exterior. I also think that we shouldn't use that as an excuse to not care whether our dress is modest or not  :) because that's an aspect of it too. Of course the interior, is very important, and necessary in order for there to be true modesty.
