FutureCarmeliteClaire
Have any of y'all ever hiked the AT? A question... What do you do about Mass, considering that hiking the AT is done in a number of weeks? And any advice for those considering doing the hike? the171
Just a medium portion. Edited May 11, 2013 by the171
Laudate_Dominum
I did a chunk of it. Pretty awesome. I wish I could do it again. No advice comes immediately to mind. Have fun!
the171
Claire and I have many things planned. I'm kind of dragging her on this.
FutureCarmeliteClaire
I think this is the most elaborate of our plans, though. Haha! I think it would be amazing, but yeah, a medium portion seems like the most practical thing for us.
WillT
I've had friends that did parts of it, but they aren't Catholic so I doubt they worried about Mass. You could always find a priest who is an avid hiker and had some vacation time. :)

Unless we take a few more people, I don't think the taking a priest along plan would work out. (this is planned for not this spring break but the next.) FutureCarmeliteClaire
We'll be 16 and 18. Maybe it'd be better if we waited another year. Idk. But yeah, bringing a priest is pretty much out of the question.
PhuturePriest
I'm a group guy when I go hiking or camping. Not because I'm afraid so much as I'm just such a extroverted person that I will go crazy if I have no one fun to talk to (I mention "fun" because even if there is someone there, if he/she isn't a friend then I hate it anyway). Also, numbers scare the more curious and clawed animals away.
the171
Is that safe, for just two people? If people know where you are. I'm going to make sure someone has a copy of our trip details.
FutureCarmeliteClaire
I mean, we could bring a few more people, but it'd be cool to do it alone.
WillT
Bring a 12 gauge. Sleep in shifts. Problem solved. Except for finding a Mass.
