CrossCuT
I blame my video game addiction on the fact that as a young child, all the kids my age that were around my house were boys.

PhuturePriest
I must admit, I was certain Lockhart was a bad guy and was only pretending to be a moron, but it's kind of sad that he really is just that stupid and dense.

Pax_et bonum
After you finish reading the series, you need to watch the musicals! A Very Potter Musical, Sequel, and Senior Year. I actually like them better than the movies :smile3: But you have to read all the books first because they jump around: AVPM is a combination of years 1, 4, 6, and 7, AVPS is years 1, 3 and 5, and AVPSY is years 2 and 6 with a bit of 5 in the beginning and 7 in the end. I should probably tell you that they use a lot of profanity, but unless I'm forgetting something, that's really all that would be problematic for some audiences. They're really very good though, and the people who put them on are very talented.
PhuturePriest
Have you seen the movies? I've seen the first one, and I'm watching the second one some time tomorrow, I'm sure. I'm not watching a movie until I've read the book, though, so what I have been doing is reading the book and then watching the movie for that book. I wasn't too impressed with The Sorcerer's Stone, but I have a feeling the movies get better as they go on. I am grateful that I found out how to properly pronounce "Hermione" from watching the movie, though, and I like knowing what the voices sound like so I can apply them when I read. The Sorcerer's Stone was the best movie for me, but a lot of that is probably due to the fact that I was quite young and I was seeing the world I'd envisioned in my head for years come to life on the screen. The biggest mistake I made was re-reading a book right before the movie came out. I think I did this with the 5th or 6th book, and it caused terrible disappointment. As I was reading specifically in anticipation of the movie, I was already choosing in my head the parts I was hoping would be in the movie and hardly any of my favorite book scenes were used. PhuturePriest
'Muricans. <_< It's Philosopher's Stone. This is America. And you happen to live on the continent of America, too, though Canada is of course the inferior part.
xTrishaxLynnx
'Muricans. <_< It's Philosopher's Stone. Well, if they'd released it as that, I'd call it that, but the book I own is clearly called "The Sorcerer's Stone." I was just wondering, actually, if there are any differences besides the title; do you know?

Apparently we're smart enough to understand what a philosopher's stone is. :| I guess marketing just thought all y'all rednecks wouldn't get it. They even overdubbed it in the movie. :lol4:

Nihil Obstat
To be fair, they probably made approximately all the money by being the company to publish those books in the US. Good on them.

I suppose they didn't expect any anime fans to read the book, or at least anyone with a strange amount of knowledge on alchemy and all that is wizardry.
