PhuturePriest
So, Emily told me I absolutely had to watch Harry Potter. I said okay, and I decided that I would read the books first, then watch the movies. I got the book at the library, and the first two chapters bored me to death. I thought "What on earth is the big deal?" Then I got to the part that starts to stop sucking, and long story short, I was busy reading until one in the morning last night (Despite being unbelievably tired), and I think I'm about halfway through the book now in just a matter of one night and half a day. It is, dare I say it, better than Anne of Green Gables. You have won this day, Nihil. But know that I will never fall for the traps that are weird anime shows and K-pop. CrossCuT
I VERY much enjoyed the books! JUST WAIT TILL THE LATER ONES! The cool thing about that series is that the books mature along with the characters. They seemed to have been written for our generation and as we grew up, so did the books! Most of the people I talked to kind of stalled a bit on book 5 and if that happens to you JUST KEEP GOING. They get SO epic!

Not because of the ending, but because basically all of those characters I had known since I was 9 were just... gone. It was like losing a bunch of really good friends. Maybe I should have posted that part in the "People are weird" thread... :paperbag: Edited May 9, 2013 by xTrishaxLynnx

A writer wants you to get attached to a character so they can instill emotions in you. That's why people flip out when their favorite character dies: they have become emotionally attached to that person, and it's a very real emotional experience. CrossCuT
There are so many amazing characters in there too. I think one of my faves HAS to be Snape. Youll find out why at the end. :w00t:

CrossCuT
MUAHAHAHAHHAA! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I cannot speak. You should finish the series tonight then we can chat! I dont want to give away anything cool. Id have to say though that one of my favorite book was the Prisoner of Azkaban. Least favorite was probably Order of the Phoenix (#5) cause it was SO SLOW in the middle. Edited May 9, 2013 by CrossCuT

I bought Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone when I was about 7 or 8, and they've been some of my favourite books ever since. I grew up with them, so when it ended it was just so strange.
