Nihil Obstat
I'm probably going in a t-shirt and skirt with some running shorts packed because I'm not sure how I will be put to work once I arrive at the camp or if we'll be going straight to the chapel. I'm a really light packer, but when it comes to books I overpack. I think I'll be better with this because the sisters have a library and all, but I do have some books that are a "must-pack." Are there any chapels in MINN or ATL? I am going to need somewhere quiet to escape to after being around so many people for so long. I shudder. I think the dressing up thing is more relevant for me because you probably look much more innocent than I do. :| Googled it. Nvm. I'll just chill in a restaurant with some coffee. I usually just set up with a snack in a corner at the gate and relax. I do not so much mind being around people, but interacting with people I do not know does tire me out as well. But usually people will not bother you too much if you are occupied with something.
the171
I totally got away with not packing correctly one time when I was like 12. It was perfect.
the171
I don't have any luggage. Any tips on the best brands and models?
the171
It's a five week camp. I'll be able to wash clothes. I'm probably just going to use my technical pack. I'm sure I can cram that thing.
ToJesusMyHeart
What's the 3-1-1 rule?
ToJesusMyHeart
I've flown alone 4 times now and have never heard of it. ATL is a cool airport. Get some chicken fried something at one of their many chicken fried places. :)
ToJesusMyHeart
Listen to their stupid 3 oz rule with regards to hair products. They confiscated my anti-frizz even though it was only 3 oz cuz it was in a 6 oz bottle and I was pretty pissed at them. They don't like it when you get pissed at them. EmilyAnn
What's the 3-1-1 rule? I think it's to do with taking liquids in carry-ons. Edit: What the171 said. Edited May 8, 2013 by EmilyAnn
ToJesusMyHeart
Oh, yes. That has to be the most annoying rule of them all.

ToJesusMyHeart
That's a rule for life generally. :hehe: Indeed! Also, if you pretend you're pregnant, they'll be gentler to you. But they also might pat you down vs. the x-ray machine. So it's whatever you want. I personally just enjoy the look on their faces when such a young lady pretends to be pregnant. It makes the security process a little easier to bear when you can mess with them.
MIKolbe
OK. So I am booking flights tomorrow. Looks like I'll have a layover on the way to in MINN, and one on the way back in ATL. I've never been to either of these airports. I'm departing from HOU. All of these airports are huge. Any tips to navigating? I'm flying alone (I've flown before) for the first time. I know the 3-1-1 rule and all those other things. What do you do during layovers? How do I avoid having to talk to people? Someone please ease my paranoia. When I have a layover I am ocd and find my connecting gata and go to it. Then I go to places close to that gate for food or for amagaxine or whatever. If u want to ignore people, pretend everyone is me.
