I don't know if I'd call myself talented, but I can play the piano.

My favorite two techniques (chromatic scale and glissando)

One of the most fun pieces to play (not necessarily my favorite one, but it's fun to play)

And some ear training. :)

You're pretty good, Miles!!!! I don't have a camera that records very good vocal audio...and I'm not too good at singing, at least not in my opinion.

Also, I thought your cat was a monkey for a few seconds...

Haha, thanks! I took that video a few months ago, and I have improved SO MUCH since then. My control on my vibrato is better, and I have learned how to be quiet and soft on some parts, and loud and obnoxious on the parts I'm supposed to be. My voice itself has also changed a bit. It's not as weird sounding.

Hahaha. It's actually a trademark I have in my videos. In every singing video, I throw that cat. It's an inside joke I have with a friend.

Lets see...I played the flute and violin for 5 years but never got good...I also own a ukelele and can strum a few chords ;) though I frequently pretend I'm a fantastic r&b singer and jam in my car :)

Thanks for this thread Carter, I was actually going to start one up only two days ago but make it a video/recording thread.... good job! :)

I have played violin and piano almost all my life, but I also play organ, keyboard/synth, a little guitar + fife. I also sing alto & most of the soprano range... generally choir or pop. I also love love love singing musicals!! I hope to sing I dreamed a dream or On my own from Les Mis at our talent night soon.

AHH, LOVE MUSIC!!!!  :smile3: We should record our voices on Audacity, upload them and mix them!! It could work....

I just stalked your Youtube channel and found your cover of Sunday Bloody Sunday. Loved it!

Bahaha, thanks! You probably also crossed my One Direction cover. In my defense, I didn't practice that song very much before I recorded it, so I was too vibrato-y and not pop-ish enough during the recording at the beginning, and I wasn't always on key. But, oh well. :P

I taught myself piano starting at 5 years old, playing by ear. I learned to read music in elementary school and eventually started clarinet in 6th grade. Haven't played that in quite a few years -- I would need new reeds and a serious grease-up -- but I still play piano to relax. :)

And I sing alto/tenor.

Yes, I did discover that one too :) I am completely ignorant regarding One Direction so have no idea how that song should sound, but I thought you didn't do too bad a job.

ETA: My sister and I record ourselves singing duets from time to time. We're not super amazing, but we have a lot of fun doing them. I might be able to coerce her into doing one I can upload :)

Don't worry about One Direction. They're only crash hot. They'll not last very long. :P

Well, it's a pop song, so it should sound more pop-ish, which I can do, but I have to get rid of the vibrato in order to do that, and I didn't.

Not so worried. They're not my style anyway. I'm more in favour of music written around 400 years ago.  :hehe2:
