missionseeker
I'm not talking like chain restaurants. I'm talking small places that just make great local, traditional food. 1)New Mexico - hands down. The native food and the native/mexican food mesh like food heaven 2)Florida - Miami food trucks and pig roasts 3)Texas - everyplace has tacos on the menu, and that is kind of awesome. You can also pick territories and outlying islands if you wish.

MIKolbe
California... I didn't realize how great the food was until I moved to PA. CA has excellent mexican, thai, italian, vietnamese, filipino, and indian eateries. More of an eclectic choice of cuisine, and some great fusion dishes therein. New York or Florida would be a close second... but my love of boliche and medianoche (sp?) would give the edge to Florida if pressed.

BG45
New Jersey, the diners tend to be pretty amazing.
Basilisa Marie
Local cuisine in the Pacific Northwest is my favorite. Fresh and organic and local, mmmmm.... The Mexican food is also great in Washington, because most places are run by families, so pretty much everything is homemade. Lefsa, bratwurst with sauerkraut, and cheese in Wisconsin. jeffboom
Texas (Houston) obviously. Houston has the best food for the lowest price.
Papist
Might as well just ask everyone what state they live in. But for me, I can't think of a favorite. I don't have the passion for food like most people. Edited May 2, 2013 by Papist

There are a lot of ethnic food stores/restaurants in Pittsburgh in the actual city, not the suburbs.

You live right next to the foodie haven that is Portland.
