I hear that the M4 is considered marginally less reliable than the M16.


It's the pre 1980s m16s that are unreliable. it's only because the bolt doesn't have a dust cover.
the m4 is a lightweight m16 and all m4s have dust covers

Yeah, I was reading on a gun forum somewhere that the M4 has a marginally higher rate of type 1 malfunctions.

Failure to eject is fairly uncommon in ar-15s. It really depends on deeping the dust cover on and the quality of the ammo.

Yeah, it usually is the ammo, isn't it? At least with rifles. :P
