Anastasia13
Obviously pornography is wrong for many reasons, but is it wrong for a married couple to record themselves for their private enjoyment? Does something like that count the same way if it is yourself and your spouse for yourself and your spouse?
CatherineM
I'd suggest reading Fr. Ron Rolheiser's book "The Holy Longing." The chapters where he discusses human sexuality and the danger of pornography in a very vivid way are the best part. Our sexuality is so powerful that it can burn us if we don't shield ourselves from it with Chastity. Rolheiser calls it a Divine Fire. Sex is not dirty or sinful, but it is raw energy. Pornography is wrong because it can expose us to something we aren't capable of seeing without having a part of our soul burned. What purpose could videotaping yourselves have? Never believe that no one else will see it. The Internet is full of videos that were never meant to be seen. A couple together doesn't need to watch themselves. The real thing is sitting right there. It would be playing with fire and serve no legitimate purpose. When I practiced law, by far the most common reason for divorce was financial issues. That was the case for 50+ years. Now it is pornography. Marriage is hard enough without voluntarily letting in a whirlwind.
