"4. No, infertile couples can't "just adopt." Most children in foster care are not available for adoption. About 20% are. The rest are supposed to be reunited with their biological families. Adoptive parents are second best in this scenario. The other options are very expensive ($20-40,000+). All options involve invasive home studies where you get to answer questions about your finances and the nature of your sex life. People who flippantly say "why don't you just adopt" are usually those who have never tried to." by Maggie

What if instead of focusing as much on anti-abortion stuff, we developed organizations that connected mom's who don't want to be mom's with women who want to be mom's?

Having been a foster mom, the problem isn't moms who don't want to be moms, but moms who shouldn't be allowed to pretend to be moms. The ones who treat their kids like target practice, or barter, also fight tooth and nail to retain parental rights, and have lots of free legal help to help them keep their kids in foster limbo. 20% may be available, but 80% should be.

I know there are lots of things like that, but my uncle and aunt wanted to have a baby and had a test tube baby. What if they could have gotten a baby from a woman who was going to have an abortion instead of her having the abortion?

unfortunately now days most women that are convinced out of abortions generally keep the babies for themselves. I don't know the statistics, and it does happen, but it's rare, unfortunately. And yeah, you'r so right about how hard it is to adopt. My auntie has been trying to adopt for years and years with no luck.... they get asked questions at the interviews along the lines of... 'so what would you do if you found out your child is gay?' *sighs*

I agree that this would be a great thing.  One of the huge problems with that is abortion clinics do not encurage this they want to make a quick buck off the women by preforming an abortion.

I have seen both sides of the adoption process.  My sister in law was in a bad relationship in high school and got pregnant.  She could not take care of a baby and the guy  in the relationship was worthless.  Her daughter is now a teenager in another town with a good family.  I also have a cousin and two friends who all adopted.  They are all great families and took a difficult situation and made something great out of it.

Also a lot of women are saying they would rather have an abortion than letting a stranger raise their child. So sad! :(

Well, we should do more to convince them otherwise, no?

How can we make that happen?
