I live near Dallas, and this is a view of the West, TX explosion from Arlington. :(

These cities are 80 miles away from each other.....

Stories like these always scare me. My dad works as an electrician in a plant. Our town is filled with chemical, petroleum, energy plants. Plants, plants, plants. Prayers for the dead, for the town, and all those affected.

I am an electrician  and there are a lot of places like this that if the wrong sequence of events happen stuff blows up.  We are  very lucky we live in the US.  A lot of complanys move there plants over seas to countries that don't have osha and value human life like we do here.  All the places that I work at in the midwest have safety backups in every system just in case the primary safety device goes bad.  Let us hope and pray that this was a unavoidable accident that had multible failures.  Not a company putting profit before safety and cut corners

Oh no, I was hoping that since it occurred at night there weren't any workers there. They must have a night shift.   :(

Lord have mercy.

A plant like that would have people there at all times

Honestly, if I don't hear some good news soon....

A friend of mine had a baby this week!

Actually, that friend, plus my Theology of the Body mentor's wife, plus my ex-boyfriend's little sister.

THREE NEW BABIES! Smile!!!  :flowers:

Good thing we didn't have an overly aggressive government weighing this business down with burdensome regulations.
