Lil Red
my husband bought a relatively cheap computer for our daughter (age 6). it's not a kids' computer, but an older model mac powerbook. what are some good websites and games that i can put on the computer for her? Free or nearly free games are appreciated. :)
arfink
What kind of Powerbook is it? What version of Mac OS is it running? Is it running a 68K processor or a PPC processor?

WillT
My wife has something called zoodles on our computer. It locks the kids out of other programs, the Internet, etc. so that they don't get into things they shouldn't. It also has smartphone/tablet apps too. We've had good luck with it, anyway! It's at zoodles.com, I believe.
AnneLine
Gamehouse.com and Shockwave.com have good things for kids that age (and some of us who are older like things there too. ;) )

arfink
I don't know if you'll be able to even run Flash on a Powerbook, depending on age. Adobe doesn't support PPC arch anymore. Might be able to get an old version if it's a G4.

MissyP89
If she likes the idea of having her own pet, Neopets.com is good and there are lots of games on there. She'll appreciate it more as she gets older, too -- you can buy and sell virtual goods, keep a bank account for the game's currency, etc.

CrossCuT
www.neopets.com Im not sure if she is old enough for that yet because it requires you to make an account, but it is similar to one of those PC adventure games.
arfink
I would really marvel if you managed to get something like Neopets to work on a Powerbook. I'd be genuinely fascinated to hear how you make it work, those old computers are kinda a hobby of mine. :)
