I noticed that CatherineM was lurking around when she "propped" a prayer request.  CatherineM -- hugs and love to you :).  You're awesome.

I'm glad to see you back, even occasionally, Catherine.

Wouldn't mind an update about how you and the family are doing -- pray for you all every day even without updates.....

I have been answering questions because I think some of them need to get answered quicker than busy priests, teachers, and DRE's are capable of. I haven't changed my opinion of Benedict's actions. My father always said it was a shame that Jesus had to leave his perfect Church in the hands of imperfect humans. I'm ecstatic that the Holy Spirit sent us Francis. I think he is going to eventually be seen as an awesome Pope.

I'm still really sad at being attacked, so probably won't contribute as much. It may take awhile before I feel safe enough to. Being disabled makes you feel very vulnerable. Fear of falling makes me afraid to be alone at home or go anywhere by myself. If I fell and hit my head again, I might end up a vegetable. Phatmass was a safe place for me.

We are all fine. Through God's blessing, we were given another chance to buy the 3 bedroom unit next door. We made an offer that was accepted, put down the down payment, and are waiting for the financing to go through. CMHC has approved the loan, and it has gone to the underwriters who will decide Monday.

We take possession May 10th, and already have another boy lined up who needs a home. He was a crack baby who recently aged out of foster care putting him back with the addict mom who wasnt allowed to care for him before he was 18. He has FASD and PDD so gets disability payments. She uses them to buy drugs and he comes here to eat when she doesn't buy food.

I'm trying to finish the book I'm working on in between feeding a frat house full of guys. I was elected as a Diocesan officer in the Catholic Women's League. We're expecting 9 inches of snow this weekend. The dog ate another cell phone. I got a new dartboard for my birthday. Just living everyday, grateful to be alive, grateful to be able to walk, and grateful for my family no matter how unconventional.

Catherine good to see you back. I still don't know how you manage to feed (and keep track of!) that many boys! Prayers for your newest addition!

I'm so happy to hear from you...and if it helps at all if anyone ever attacks you again I'll beat them with a stick. I think sometimes the anonymous factor of the Phorum lets us loose our charity a little and while I am disappointed it had to be pointed out (because it happened at all) I am grateful that is HAS been pointed out.

I want to hear more about this. Is this typical of Bassets?

Yes. We don't own a phone or remote without bite marks. He grabs so that we will chase. They think it is great fun. We train them to not chomp down by saying "trade" so he knows we will trade for a treat. The phone in question got left out and we weren't here to trade. He has grabbed wallets from people's pockets and hands. They are extremely mischievous, but worth the trouble. This one wakes me up when I'm having PTSD night terrors and lays next to me until I fall back asleep. He licks my leg when it's really hurting.

Catherine, that is neat about the bassets!

We used to have a column in our local newspaper named Fred Basset, and he was simply wonderful & I learned to appreciate much of the uniqueness of the breed thru that... and you are adding more facets!

I'm a little curious about how and what you feed your growing brood of non-bassets.

In round numbers, what kind of amounts of food do all those guys chow down?   It must be HUGE!

And would it help you if we sent things like supermarket cards to you or something?  Strikes me you are doing a huge act of charity and love that has in part been prayed for and nurtured by a lot of us here, and I for one know my charity dollars would go further with you than with a lot of 'established' charities....
