Anastasia13
dumbest thing I've heard all day Give me the formula you want and an email address. I would practically put money on being able to email the you the Excel spreadsheet you need. I don't know what guage studies are, but I know I could use Excel for my stats courses if I tried. Source: two courses in business and finance use of excel and regular use in courses as a business major including some familiarity with business statistics and friends who took the engineering use of Excel course in school. Look, I use Excel on a daily basis, I am aware of it's capabilities. I am a level 12 Excel Wizard. It's just that Minitab is designed for DoE/Statistical purposes and is superiour in that respect. Anyhow, I don't have any issues with the calculations, I'm more interested in hearing someone's application of the theory as well as any issues they might have had. Or if they have any tips, or general advice about implementing a design.
Nihil Obstat
A couple different stats profs have told me that Excel does not quite cut it when you want pure statistics. If statistical software is available, best to go with that.

Yeah, there are websites dedicated to Excel's calculation errors wrt statistics. I wouldn't recommend using it for that purpose unless you have an awareness of these 'quirks'

Nihil Obstat
I LIKE STATCALC MYSELF. FLOOP YES! Crummy software written by my first jerk of a stats professor for Windows 95, and probably not updated once since then. He was the only professor in the department who forced his students to use that instead of Minitab, which put me at a huge disadvantage for Stats II, because I had no experience on the proper software.
