Maximilianus
I actually do need to do that. Although I'm not sure what you mean by barn gun, tbh typically a no frills simple muzzle loading long gun kept in the barn or carried out in the fields to ward of varmints. missionseeker
that's what I thought. We just don't keep ours in the barn.
Maximilianus
I don't have a barn, but if I did, I wouldn't keep a gun in it either.
MissyP89
Cat, your life makes mine look embarrassing. Can I come chill with you for a week? Sounds like the best kind of retreat.
missionseeker
Sure you can come visit but it's not all that interesting. In a list it looks a lot more impressive than it really is. I have to build a new place for my chickens to live. Whatever critter is getting the chickens' eggs is still getting them. Now I think I may have closed it in. (go figure) so... I'm going to build them a moveable one so they can move in grassy areas instead of being stuck in the coop where they already got rid of all the grass. The cows are coming back again. LOL. Stray cows. I took a picture of them the other day, I'll post it later. Also, we have this one area that has a few fruit trees but is mostly empty, I'm planning a garden. I want to put pumpkins on a trellis (I just want to see it *work* lol.) so I'm designing a few more planters. to make like one of those really cool walk iin gardens with book nooks. We'll see. There are a lot of bugs here, so it may not be ideal for reading...
missionseeker
Annoying: We've already had problems with the mower starting. My BIL just switched the ignition switch which is what my brother thought it was. The battery has been giving the trouble for a long time and it has been sitting in the barn for over a year. So I'm telling my dad that despite charging overnight for two nights, and it still showing 0 charge (but the charger has power going to it and it works). Then I say, dad, you're not even getting a click or motor turn over, there's just NO power going through. And he says "well I'll send [your uncle] over to check and make sure you've got it connected right." WHAT>!>?! Excuse me?? Really? You don't think I can set up a charger to a lawn mower (despite his and my brother's and my bil's clear and precise instructions followed to a T) Or hell, there's youtube if I need it. So I sent him a picture, and it's setup correctly and he STILL thinks he needs to send my uncle over. When really, all he needs to do is tell me where he'd prefer that I buy A NEW BATTERY. ugh. Sometimes I wonder if my dad isn't the reason I have so many feminist leanings. lol.

missionseeker
Ironically enough, after I posted that, my dad sent me a text to tell me to just take it to Napa. lol. Also, Asiatic Lilies were on sale at Walmart - $2.50 FOR THREE PLANTS. Any type of lilies are my favorite plant in the whole word. (Well, orchids are tied) so I got a whole bunch. I'll probably get more After I get paid. LOL.
xTrishaxLynnx
I want a garden and especially want an avocado tree, but it wouldn't survive up here. One day...

missionseeker
I got all these for like 25$
missionseeker
Today I discovered: Baby pomegranates Baby pears Baby peaches Baby plums Baby apples Baby daisies. Baby hollyhocks (one of which is growing upside down, the stem is in the soil, and the seed is sticking up) I cannot find the lumber that I want. :( I had to bait a trap with liver. It's a catch and release trap. so not only do I have to bait it with liver which is only one of the top five most disgusting foods ever, I have to deal with whatever thinks that's delicious. So not a happy camper about that. Tomorrow I get the dog. Monday, I get five ducks. One day, I'll catch those cows. They're seriously tearing up my wheat field.
