missionseeker
My father left me in charge of "the farm" and granted, my brother planted most of it before he went away, but this week my 1) Strawberries* started turning red 2) I ate the onions I grew 3) My tomatoes* started flowering 4) my potatoes* began to come up 5) My cilantro* got ginormous 6) my wheat looks like wheat 7) my Satsuma trees* got baby satsumas 8) my peppers* are start to look like they might flower soon. 9) my plum trees flowered 10) the cherries FINALLY started to bud 11) I fixed the chicken coop so that whatever was getting in couldn't (though it did find a new way two nights later and I have YET to find that place. :( 12) the neighborhood strays (which are cows) broke into to my wheat field (which is fine. the wheat was an experiment to see if it grows here. And to maybe see if the cows would eat it, so...) 13) my brother's tulips bloomed 14) I might get a dog. * = my brother had NOTHING to do with this

MissyP89
You're a boss. :like: Dad used to have a large veggie garden, but he's scaled back since we built the barn. He'd be proud of you.
missionseeker
I love you. You're a boss. :like: Dad used to have a large veggie garden, but he's scaled back since we built the barn. He'd be proud of you. My dad loves me and is surprised that I actually am keeping up with everything (I was quite resistant to it) I asked him to me buy an avocado tree and he told me sure. Also, there are about 8 cows that kind of wander around the area and have been - ownerless for somewhere between 1 and 4 years. No one's really sure. When they first got out, we called everyone and asked if they were theirs. No one has claimed them. So today we looked up the laws about it at work (i work at a law firm) and apparently if you catch "cattle at large" on your property, you can file a statement with the court and if there's no owner that shows up within like ten days, the court sells the cows (to you, if you wish. But you also have a lien against the state for damages to crops and property plus the cost of keeping them, so we are presuming [as there really isn't that much case law available] that it would work out that you pay some small fee and the court/filing costs and the judge issues an order naming them yours. So ... there's an empty fence in my backyard and they come here often so if I shut the gate on them and do the whole riggamarole I might have a herd of cows.
