I have NAB, RSV-CE (Ignatius), and Douay-Rheims. What is a good translation to add to the reference stack? Also, can anyone recommend (I have already researched. I am looking for personal experience.) a good, portable-size copy of the Ignatius bible? I'm looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1586171011?selectObb=new. I've looked at the reviews and it seems good.

Looks like you've hit the main three, though I think the ESV (English Standard Version) is a very faithflul translation personally.

That's the one I have. It is very good but the pages are thin and the type is small.

Knox Bible. It's similar to the Douay-Rheims (Which is my personal favorite), but I hear the Knox Bible is absolutely amazing.

That's why I am wary about purchasing it. I am really rough with anything that travels with me.

The zipper is very good though and the outside is bery sturdy.

I've actually never been a fan of the NRSV.

I think I'm less concerned with the translation itself; I just love the fact that it's the Lectio Divina edition.

The Navarre Bible is fun.

Also I have that bible. Ditto everything Red said.

Nihil Obstat

I like to read the Knox in parallel with the Douay Rheims. But I love the Haydock commentary within the Douay Rheims as well, and sometime I must make a point to pick up a printed version.

Basilisa Marie

It's not a bible, but I have a New Jerome Biblical Commentary that I adore.  It has pull out maps.   :bounce:
