the171
So I have bought some bras for Wal Mart, Target, and the other basic retailers and they are all uncomfortable. Who sells the most comfortable bra? I'm going shopping tomorrow evening.
Lil Red
Which brands did you get?
the171
I can only remember the most recent purchase. It was Gilligan & O'Malley for Target.
OnlySunshine
I like Fruit of the Loom Sports Bras in the Tank style. I wear them all the time. I hate regular bras because of the way they itch. I get a pack of 3 at Walmart for $9.88 plus tax. They have other styles, too, but the tank style is the best, IMO. I also think that Bestform is a good brand. You can usually find them at Kmart and Sears. They hold up nice and have many different styles from pullover to hook&eye. Last but not least, if you really want a good hook&eye bra, I'd recommend Playtex 18 hour bras. They are the only regular bras I can tolerate if I have to wear one (for formal occasions that call for thinner straps). The 18 hour bras hold up really well and are very flattering. I, personally, like their full figure bras. They are REALLY easy to find since they are sold almost anywhere (Walmart, Target, Sears, JCPenney, etc.)
the171
I wish I could wear sports bras all the time. I tried it, but it did not work out. (ie-people noticed)
morostheos
For me, the most comfortable are Barely There. Although I have found they tend not to last quite as long as some other brands, they have been improving in quality lately.
Guest Allie
Go to Macy's, Victoria's Secret or some other high end store (with real customer service) and get fitted, Choose 2 or three comfortable styles in different brands and buy at least one of each. Then when you shop at a less expensive store, take them with you to find a match. I recommend Ross, Burlington Coat Factory and Marshalls where :hehe: you can often get high quality for less. Also Nordstrom's Rack. Also always was your bras on gentle (I hand wash underwire) and never put in the dryer. I know--TMI
Annie12
JC Penny all the way! They were the only ones I could ever find comfortable undergarments from.
FutureCarmeliteClaire
I buy mine from Target. These ones: http://www.target.com/p/playtex-women-s-all-over-comfort-cotton-wire-free-soft-cup-bra-assorted-colors/-/A-10567518#prodSlot=large_4_18 Seriously the only ones I've found that are comfortable. (ie-people noticed) That's when I knew I had to quit wearing them... But seriously, who the heck would comment on that?! People are annoying. OnlySunshine
Well, my mom noticed and bothered me about it for a long time but they are the only bras I like so I didn't care. After all, I'm wearing them -- not her. ;)

Basilisa Marie
I like Maidenform and Barely There. Basically something that markets itself as a "T-shirt bra", because they're thin and smooth. Also make sure you're getting the right size - so definitely get fitted, because there are different ways to measure and it's hard to do it right on yourself. Something like 2/3 of women don't wear the right size bra, and sizes vary a bit between brands, so know your "sister sizes" (aka if I'm a 34B I'm also a 36A and on rare occasions a 32C, all depending on the brand). For a while I thought I hated underwire, then I realized I wasn't doing it right. THE MORE YOU KNOW.

Maggyie
OK don't go to Victoria's Secret, they don't actually train the girls how to measure properly. I am a 32DDD which they don't sell there, so they told me I was something else. Go to Nordstrom's. Yes it is expensive. Yes the service is fantastic. Yes they will actually measure you correctly, the bra will actually fit you and you will feel like a million bucks. It is worth the investment. The wrong bra can actually cause your muscles to break down over time and strain your back. The poorly made cheap ones from Target or Walmart fall in this category.
