Have you read any of the Pope's official (i.e. from the Vatican's site, the full, unedited versions) homilies/addresses/angelus' yet? Which one(s) did you think were particularly helpful/edifying/moving/etc?

Out of everything I've read so far (which is up to the Easter Vigil Homily), I think his first greeting, his homily at the installation Mass, and the Chrism Mass homily have been the most interesting/edifying.

I've gotten much fruit out of meditation on all of the things I've read of his so far - which is not nearly as much as I'd like to have read! ;)

Wow I'm reallly glad you started this topic, it didn't even hit me until now what a treasure cove of wisdom must be in those homilies.

it does seem like some of the audiences/addresses are slow in being translated to English. is this a normal thing? anyone know?

Random House published an old book of his in Spanish last week. I know because I reminded them they already owned partial rights to it and ought to publish it. :)

I haven't read it yet though. I doubt I will since it's a dialogue book between him and a rabbi.

For papal homilies, sign up for Vatican news each day. You'll get excepts at least and they're translated by the time you get going in your day.
