allis-challmers
I Dont remember which reading it was but I was wondering if anyone knew what the church taught the reason when Jesus was instructing his apostles to be ready for the trials to come. He said whoever does not have a sword should buy one. But when he is in the garden getting arrested he tells Peter to put his sword away. Just wondering why in the same gospel just paragraphs apart this was said. thanks
CatherineM
I believe he was talking about a philosophical sword. He need to have our defenses ready. We need to be ready to defend the faith. We need to be ready to protect ourselves from the temptation to give up in the face of temptation.
