Apotheoun
NBC did have the quirky short term hit called Quark, a sci fi sitcom about a space sanitation vessel. The show spoofed Star Wars, 2001 A Space Odyssey, and Star Trek, and several other sci fi films of the late 70s. Here is its pilot episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYZWP80opd4
homeschoolmom
I did not know that that show (Fantasty Journey) existed until just now.
Apotheoun
I did not know that that show (Fantasty Journey) existed until just now. You can actually watch the pilot movie on youtube. I used to watch the show every Thursday night on NBC as a kid. It only lasted a few months before it got cancelled, but for some reason I liked it. It was probably simply that I was starved for sci fi programming. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOLdPcjGVIc Edited April 25, 2013 by Apotheoun
AnneLine
The only show that was listed in the promo that had any success was Centennial, but it was planned as a 12 part miniseries, and so it could not rescue NBC's dismal schedule. I loved Michener's book, Centennial, but I wasn't as impressed with the miniseries when it came out. BUT I found it on youtube a whie back, and it really is EXCELELNT, and it is fun watching the cameo roles by some of the then-big names.. and future big names.... Of course, one has to be open to a LONG story.... literally beginning with the rocks, lands, native peoples, etc.... I especially liked this episode, with the introduction of a character with his roots in Amish country:
