The Exultet!!!!!!

And Glorias where the congregation DOESN'T ring cowbells. (That really happened, both on Holy Thursday and at the Easter Vigil; they handed out ACTUAL COWBELLS for the congregation to ring.)

Cow bells? Really? I'd rather do a 48 hour famine than ring a cowbell during mass. Candles are one thing snice so many churches do the candles. I hope you have the chance someday to go find yourself a better parish. I realize you are stuck for.... now. Sigh.

That's just at the local church. The local church isn't our home church; our home church is uber-traditional (we still do the Novus Ordo, but there's no drums, no guitars, no cowbells, the priest faces the tabernacle (which is at the center of the sanctuary), a lot of the Mass is in Latin, etc.) but we went to the local church because a family we know entered the Church last night. :) And I love the candles.

So what was everyone's favorite part of Easter this weekend? :)

I went to the Vigil, and not only did we have about a dozen people enter the Church (hooray!), but we had a 6 year old girl and a man in his 80s baptized.

Well, mine was... interesting, to say the least. Last night, we went to the Vigil, as we have always done. This morning, we woke up early, and went to my grandmother's house. My mother then started talking with her sister. They both started drinking, and my mother drank an entire bottle of wine, and so did her sister, and then they split another bottle of wine. My mother is so hammered right now. She can't feel her lips, and for a few times she has been completely incomprehensible.

When the CE Catholics in front of me didn't go up to receive communion.

I wish I could say that about the CE Catholics at my Church.  It was so obvious when they weren't sure of the gestures.  Still, I'm glad they were there...

I loved what our pastor said at the beginning:

"It's great to see all of you here this Easter Sunday.  We have Mass every Sunday!"

It was a great way to get the point across without being domineering.
