organwerke
Organwerke, With all due respect, people need to be careful over the internet. There are very few people that can be trusted, especally when you are dealing with foreign countries. To top that off, we do not know that you, nor if the money would actually go to the family. It's just reality. Sending money overseas is NOT easy. The American government (and most others) would not look kindly upon a website that condoned sending money to Pakistan. Sending money to a Catholic dioceses would be different. We are sorry for your loss, but we have set a responsible limitation on helping, that our money go through the dioceses, and if this is not possible than we have reached an impass. Dear hotpink, with all due respect, if you have read my thread from the beginning, you should have seen that I've asked for some ideas for fundraising in a sure way. If you have any, concrete idea, to create a link that allows us to send money to the diocesis, I'd be really really happy to put it in practice. besides the fact to suggest to me to contact the diocesis, would you be available also to give me a concrete help to do this? Because, besides the fact that I perfectly know that we must be really careful when doing these things, and I for first do not want to throw off my money, and besides the fact that I have collected lots of official documents that prove the veridicity of these persons and of their acts (since this is a contact that I have from some years), when I announced the death of CW on phatmass, I was personally asked from some members on phatmass if they could do anything to help these people. I tried to do this, but evidently there isn't much interest or the dangers of "throwing away money" are seen as too big and so impossible to overcome that the final answer is probably: sorry, but there isn't any real way we can think of for helping these people. (and I would tell: it isn't only a matter of money. CW's cousing for example asked me if I could donate him a chalice and a cyborium for celebrate mass, he also would be really happy to accept used ones from a parish that does not use them any more.). I repeat: I also second very much the idea of the diocese and I think: maybe there is any of you interested in helping me in some concrete ways to create a sort of link? But unfortunately I already imagine the answer... So now I think that, as I see that 1. surely phatmass is not a phorum whose purpose is to ask money from their members and I apologize for having used it in this way. 2. evidently there are too many difficulties to create a sort of sure link and fundraising for these persons I gently ask the moderators to close this thread. I apologize again for having started it I must say I was also inspired to start it form previous private messages I receive from other phatmass members and also from previous threads I found in particular in Vocation Station where more than one members asked for help for paying off their debts. I too did participate donating some money to Labouré Society for a phatmass member. Anyway, I repeat: I gently ask to moderators to close this thread as I does not see any utility in it. Thanks Edited April 25, 2013 by organwerke
organwerke
Not to be offensive, but I guess that since CW's cousin is going to be ordained as a priest (he is already a deacon now and he is serving at the parish Our Lady of Fatima in Islamabad), he has probably already thought of this option. I also know for sure that CW's parish priest already helped him a lot in the past when he couldn't find a job because of his beliefs. My idea was to create also a sort of fundraising from abroad but apparently this isn't going to work ...... I should have answered in a more precise way. I too second very much the idea of acting through the diocesis but the question is: is there any of us who would be able to help me doing something concrete in this way? (this was the first aim of my thread). What can we do to create a link with the diocesis to send money directly to it? Please note that I did not ask any of you to donate money (any of us do what they are able to do and donating money is a matter of very personal choice). I have to correct it also in my previous post. But again: since I think I've already received the suggestions I asked for (I would have hoped also that someone offered themselves to help me doing so but that did not happen), I do not see any more utility to this thread and so I gently ask moderators to close it. LouisvilleFan
Hi, thank you very much for your interest. Yes I asked CW's cousin to put me in contact with his bishop, I am waiting for his reply right now. Unfortunately I am not able to find many people willing to join me helping these people. I'd like eventually to create a contact between them and the Servidoras of The Lord and The Virgin of Matarà since for what I know they have in mind to open a mission in Pakistan in the future, but I don't know if they already have in mind in which location. I'll try to get more informations. Sorry for the late reply. I only get on here about once or twice a month. Any word from his bishop or the diocese? I think the diocese could possibly set up a way where donations could simply pass through their account. Interesting that what we are trying to do here is why the Institutes of the Works of Religion was founded, a.k.a. the Vatican Bank, which (for better for worse) probably won't exist a year from now. I happen to know a priest from India. He helps install water wells in many parts of the world, so he who would love to help and he might know something about dealing with financial arragements. Yes, it is true. I also take the opportunity to ask you a thing: CW's cousin, who will be ordained soon as a priest, asked me if I could send him a chalice and a ciborium, because these are very expensive items for him. I've seen that these items are very expensive here too, but I saw on ebay an advertisement quite cheap. Considering that the ciborium doesn't have a cross, do you think it is valid for celebrating Mass? (you can give a look here):http://www.ebay.it/itm/181110658008?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 Thanks! Did you end up buying this one? I'm not an expert in liturgy, but I figure if glass is valid (though illicit) then there should be no doubts about a precious metal. Are there any ministries that specifically help poor parishes with this need?

Are there any ministries that specifically help poor parishes with this need? Hi sorry for the reply. As I told you I had some personal problems these days so I couldn't read phatmass very much. No, I didn't buy that one finally, but a chalice and a ciborium I found in a shop of religious articles. They are surely very valid and good for their purpose. CW's parish is in Islamabad, I could ask him how they usually get these things for the needs of parishes. Now that I've come back I 'll also ask him about the bishop (he is of course in contact with hime as he will ordained soon) and if there is this way to donate money through the diocese. I also invited him to register on phatmass and personally posting on his situation and I hope he will do. Thank you for your nice interest.
