I was in Disneyworld one year over Good Friday, on a band trip.  :|

But then as soon as I got off the plane the next day, TeresaBenedicta and I had to drive to church to make it in time for Easter Vigil Catechumen practice. :)

I'm trying to read all of Pope Francis' homilies, addresses, angelus', etc. I want to start the Divine Mercy novena today as well.

I'm going to do the Divine Mercy Chaplet actually AT 3 today. Have some history, literature, and Theology to catch up on. Going to a living stations of the cross. Possibly the Good Friday liturgy if possible. This week has been really hard (fittingly, since it is Holy Week), so I'm trying to just take a chill pill, do the things I need to do, and pray. Listen to some Good Friday appropriate music and maybe I'll watch the Passion.

Oh, yeah, and fasting.

I was at a psych hospital for 7 hours...interning.  :hehe2:

My parish had Veneration at 3pm so I missed it. I plan on doing Scripture reading and watching the Passion later.

I didn't listen to Protestant radio today. I turned on EWTN instead and prayed the Stations with them. It was great.

all though drinks are allowed, getting your fancy schmancy grande mocha latte from starbucks probably isn't a good idea ;)

I prayed the prayers of Divine Mercy around 3pm.  I was cleaning the bathrooms and missed 3pm exactly so I had to make due.  My mom and I watched the Passion together tonight.  I just got done praying the Novena of Divine Mercy, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary.  Needless to say, I'm exhausted.  I'm so thankful for discerninghearts.com for having an MP3 of the Rosary prayers because I was having trouble concentrating since I'm so tired.  I love their prayers:

I wish I could have spent all day at my parish. But home responsibility prevents that. We try to keep the home as solemn as possible as you can with young children.  We do stations as a family in the home. We printed out the stations and put them on the wall in our upstairs hall. We colored the stations coloring pages.  Point is to have activities that reminds us of today (Good Friday) is.

I don't work at all on Good Friday.  I plan the day off months ahead of time.  I kept to silence most of the day (by 9pm I did turn on the TV, figuring that since I hadn't done any radio/TV since 7:15 the day before that was sufficient).

I'm hoping if all works out for next year I will be on retreat.  I was in 2012, and I loved it.  I couldn't due to finances and vacation time (need every day that I can get for the 30 day retreat).

I think fish fries are hardly in the spirit of Lent, much less Good Friday. Nevertheless, at least one parish in Cincinnati has one on that day.
