Annie12
I was hoping some of you could help me understand how it is we are supposed to be the light of the world when it can be so dark sometimes. I went through a school that was very "dark". Being at all virtuous was worthy of being labeled an outsider. I tried my best to let Jesus shine through me while I was there but as a result I was emotionally wounded from all the persecution. I suppose as Catholics, standing up for what is virtuous and being persecuted as a result is an occupational hazard, but when is enough, enough? When can we move on and "shake the dust from our feet"? Further how can one heal after being persecuted? (PS. I'm sorry if this doesn't belong in Transmudane Lane. I just didn't want to post it in Open Mic because I wanted to have a serious discussion) Thanks!

BarbTherese
This is probably where spiritual direction would be of great benefit and blessing.
Papist
By living in Christ, we should emit the the Light of Christ. Here's an image, the moon's brightness is due to the sun's light reflecting off it. We are the moon and Christ in the sun.
