thessalonian
What's with these morons hatin on mother teresa these days. Supposedly she took in 100 million a year and stashed all or most of it away. Well let's see she had 700 facilities so 100 million divided by 700 is.....drum roll... about 150K. Ya I bet she was stashing away alot after paying staff and upkeep on facilities and food and clothing for those she cared for. She should have had all kinds of money for chemotherapy, and antibiotics, and cat scan equipment and xrays, etc. etc. Sarcasm out. People don't have a brain. Attacking those who care for the poor as best they can.

MichelleNicole
I can say I was with the missionaries of Charity(contemplatives for a few years in formation) They are a wonderful, holy and beautiful community, and they live their poverty very strictly. Not a penny, is wasted or "stashed" away for some non-religious purpose. They don't make a cent from anything, it is all divine providence, God has a lot of money :smile2: The problem with the world is they don't understand God's will, a calling, or a charism within a religious order. It is for Jesus, to Jesus, to quench His Thirst for love and souls. Not social work. We just have to pray for their conversion Thessalonian and keep spreading the truth and light. :like3: nice one haterade.....I like it.

thessalonian
She's a Saint--not an accountant! (no offense to you accountants on the path to sanctity :saint2: ) Seems she did better than an accountant running these places for 150k a year on average. dominicansoul
I read one article written by some guy who said that Mother T loved to suffer, and she did nothing to eliminate the pain of those she cared for, but rather, forced them to suffer in her own sick, sadistic and twisted way... It was a gross mis-characterization of her. The comments, though, were surprisingly very critical of the writer.
Apotheoun
The more insults the godless direct at her the more like Christ she becomes.

Brother Adam
Yes, if you look at research with a particular bias it is certainly possible to bash Mother Teresa. You'd be amazed at what people say about blacks & gays when they do the same thing.

thessalonian
That is the silliness I am referring to. Oh gee how funny they simply parroted the same info that Christopher Hitchens did. Now there is an unbiased source. And you know that the researcher has a bias because you don't like her conclusion? And I am sure you won't like this articles conclusion either. http://catholicreview.org/blogs/fertile-soil/2013/03/08/mother-teresa-a-stumbling-block-for-the-comfortable But why don't you try engaging your brain rather than your atheistic prejudice while you read it and you might see things a bit differently. Do you think that 700 facilities happened by accident? Edited March 28, 2013 by thessalonian

Now there is an unbiased source. Did they parrot it or did they come to the same conclusions through independent means? And I am sure you won't like this articles conclusion either. http://catholicreview.org/blogs/fertile-soil/2013/03/08/mother-teresa-a-stumbling-block-for-the-comfortable But why don't you try engaging your brain rather than your atheistic prejudice while you read it and you might see things a bit differently. Do you think that 700 facilities happened by accident? It's not a good argument and shows a pretty general ignorance of health policy. For exactly, he is either incorrectly under the impression that John Hopkins' operating budget is 6.5 billion or he is deliberately misleading people who don't enjoy critical thinking and will be happy to lap out whatever he puts in your bowl. John Hopkins operating budget is actually much less. A little over 600 million. http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/medicine/id/fellowshipandtraining/ I haven't read the study and therefore I am not defending it nor do I accept it's conclusions. I'm willing to bet that you haven't read it either but your mind is already made up and you have bother begun defaming these researchers before you have any basis to know whether or not they are in fact honest or not. I think that's called slander. Edited March 28, 2013 by Hasan
