tinytherese
I recommend reading I Believe in Love. Heck, I recommend that every Catholic read it at some point. It's especially good for helping you handle spiritual problems. http://www.amazon.com/Believe-Love-Personal-Retreat-Teaching/dp/1928832288
fons_vitae
Your father baptized you? That's interesting. If it's the baptism you're worried about, ask for a conditional baptism to be sure. That should put your fears to rest. Well, the problem is that this has happened before... and actually, I've brought up similar doubts about this and my confirmation to that same priest, but I'm not sure he realizes the mental aspect of this. I don't have any rational basis for doubting any of the sacraments I have received, merely a feeling... which brings me to the very good argument raised on this site, that unless I really couldn't remember what happened at my baptism (I can), there's no need to force the issue. The short version: Despite having full memory of my valid baptism and valid confirmation, I can still tend to doubt them because of shaky spiritual growth down the line. It might be easier to fault the sacraments instead of myself :S.

We all grow at different rates, I was once told by a Religious Brother ( who was quoting somebody else and I forgot who) that the first Sin we confess is often the last one we will confess too. We all struggle in our spiritual lives, and that this slow growth MAY be a good sign because you are seeking after God. Take comfort in the knowledge that we ALL struggle. Stay faithful to your prayers and ask God for strength, for me I have found the times like you describe as the one that I learn a lot about faith and trust and then after awhile of struggling...BAM...God blesses me so much. I will pray for you in a special way through this Easter Season. And, Welcome to the Phamily.
fons_vitae
Thank you, PadrePio... I think I may blame moral failures on my experience of the sacraments, since I can't quite accept that I would be mired in sin or spiritual setbacks :p...
