MorphRC
Pax Iesus Christi This has been bugging me for a while, to why and how the Church believe that non-Catholics are Christian, we know that they follow previous heresies, Cathars, Ana-baptists etc, but they are still considered Christians, how so, if they deny the apostolic teachings? Thanks Pax Iesus Paul.
Pontifex
The Church understands that many people are born into situations that they have no control over. They do not adhere to the fullness of the Christian faith because they are ignorant of that fullness, namely, the Catholic Church. Because it is an ignorance we still accept their belief in Jesus Christ and consider them "separated brethren." Their salvation comes through the merits of Christ and his Church. It is the reason we pray for all people at the Mass. However, the Church is less sympathetic for those who have knowledge of the truth and choose to reject that. This is a much more serious situation. Peace, Fr. Pontifex
